A court in Mykolaiv ruled to remand in custody without bail a local woman who is suspected of passing on to the Russian side sensitive data exposing the location of the Ukrainian Army units.

This was reported by the press service of the Central District Court of Mykolaiv on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

According to the inquiry, the suspect used a Telegram messenger platform to communicate with her son, an ex-serviceman with the already liquidated Berkut special operations police unit, who now lives in temporarily occupied Sevastopol and serves in the local police. He asked his mother to provide him with information about the movement and deployment zones of the Ukrainian forces, to which she is believed to have agreed.

Law enforcement officers say the woman had been collecting and transmitting to her Russian handlers sensitive information on the location of Armed Forces’ units, including air defense capabilities. Her son would pass the intelligence to an unidentified operative of Russia’s military intelligence.

The judge ruled to remand the suspect in custody with no bailout option.

As reported, a district court in Mykolaiv sentenced to 11 years in prison a senior foreman at the Zorya-Mashproekt SOE for a number of crimes against national security.
