A resident of the Rivne region who directed enemy missiles at Ukrainian airfields has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Facebook by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Directorate in the Cherkasy region.

“Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, another enemy informant has been sentenced to eight years in prison for spying on Ukraine’s Defense Forces in the western regions. In February 2025, SBU officers detained the suspect during another attempt to pass on intelligence data. He was identified as a 21-year-old resident of the town of Radyvyliv in the Rivne region,” the post reads.

It is noted that the suspect spied on Ukrainian Armed Forces units moving toward the front through western Ukraine. Upon spotting military convoys, he recorded the approximate number of combat vehicles and their tactical characteristics.

In addition, under the guise of visiting relatives, the individual traveled to the Lviv region, where he attempted to identify the locations of operational airfields targeted by the enemy for strikes.

In exchange for cooperation, the invaders promised the informant “evacuation” to Russia and a passport of the aggressor state.

During a search, a mobile phone containing evidence of cooperation with the enemy was seized.

Based on materials from the Security Service, the court found the suspect guilty under Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the movement or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the possibility of identifying them on the ground).

The investigation was conducted by SBU officers in the Cherkasy region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor’s office.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, the SBU exposed a minor who, together with his father, adjusted Russian strikes on the city of Dnipro.
