Militants continue to launch attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas

Russian-backed militants have shelled Ukrainian positions, using weapons of over 100mm in caliber in violation of the existing agreements.

In Mariupol direction, the enemy used 120mm mortars to launch attacks on ATO positions near Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol), Novotroitske (32km south of Donetsk), Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk), Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk). In addition, militants used tank to fire at Shyrokyne.

In Donetsk direction, the tensest situation was observed in Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), where militants used small arms, heavy machine guns, grenade launchers, mortars and tanks. At about 19:00, terrorists started to launch attacks, using BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers. ATO troops outside Verkhniotoretske (22km north-east of Donetsk), Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk), Opytne (11.5km north-west of Donetsk) and Kamyanka (62km south of Donetsk) came under 82mm mortar fire.

In Luhansk direction, Russian-backed militants used heavy machine guns and grenade launchers to fire at Ukrainian positions near Valuiske (20km north-east of Luhansk), Novooleksandrivka (65km west of Luhansk), Novozvanivka (70km west of Luhansk).
