Militants launched 21 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day
This is reported by the ATO Headquarters press center.
“The enemy violated ceasefire in ATO area 21 times over the past day, particularly using the weapons which are banned under the Minsk agreements. As a result of the enemy shelling, three Ukrainian soldiers were wounded,” the statement reads.
In Luhansk direction, Russian-backed militants used mortars of different calibers and all types of infantry weapons to launch attacks near Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk). A military clash, which lasted five hours, occurred in this area. Ukrainian troops repulsed the attack of the sabotage-reconnaissance group from the 7th separate motorized rifle brigade of the 2nd Army Corps of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation. "As a result of the clash, the enemy suffered losses: one serviceman was killed and another two were wounded. In this direction, the enemy also used heavy machine guns to fire at the defenders of Novoluhanske [53km north-east of Donetsk]," the ATO Headquarters press center reports.
In addition, jeopardizing the lives of civilian population, the terrorists fired 152mm artillery near Vrubivka (72km west of Luhansk), a village several kilometers away from the contact line. Doing so, the Russian-occupation forces grossly violated the Minsk agreements.
The enemy also fired several dozens 120mm mortars on Ukrainian strongholds near Prychepylivka (50km north-west of Luhansk) and Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk).
In Donetsk direction, ATO troops came under 82mm mortar and infantry weapons fire outside Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk) and Kamyanka (62km south of Donetsk).
