According to a report of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM), on May 14, an SMM patrol spotted 17 tanks in a training area near Myrne (28km south-west of Luhansk). On May 13, a long-range UAV detected two infantry fighting vehicles (BMP variant), an armoured personnel carrier (BTR-80), a trench digger (probable TMK-2), and three armoured personnel carriers (MT-LB variant) in a compound in Kalmiuske (formerly Komsomolske, 42km south-east of Donetsk).
In addition, a mini-UAV spotted two infantry fighting vehicles (one BMP-1 and one BMP-2) near Petrivske (41km south of Donetsk); and two armoured combat vehicles (type undetermined) near Nadarivka (64km west of Luhansk).
All spotted military equipment belongs to the armed formations of the Russian Federation and is located in the security zone.
The Mission’s freedom of movement continued to be restricted, including at a checkpoint of the armed formations near Horlivka, Donetsk region, and at a border crossing point near non-government-controlled Voznesenivka (formerly Chervonopartyzansk), Luhansk region. Its UAVs again experienced multiple instances of GPS signal interference.
