OSCE SMM reports 839 ceasefire violations in eastern Ukraine
"In Donetsk region, between the evenings of 5 and 7 November, the SMM recorded 661 ceasefire violations, including 87 explosions (37 airbursts, 15 outgoing, three impacts and 32 undetermined)," the report reads.
The majority of ceasefire violations occurred in areas north of Shyrokyne (government-controlled, 100km south of Donetsk), west of Holmivskyi (non-government-controlled, 49km north-east of Donetsk) and north-north-east of Oktiabr mine (non-government-controlled, 9km north-west of Donetsk).
Additionally, the SMM also recorded 60 bursts of heavy-machine-gun and small-arms fire south and south-west of Hranitne (government-controlled, 60km south of Donetsk), assessed as a live-fire exercise in violation of the decision of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) of 3 March 2016 that prohibits the conduct of live-fire training in the security zone.
In the previous reporting period, the Mission recorded 482 ceasefire violations in Donetsk region.
"In Luhansk region, between the evenings of 5 and 7 November, the SMM recorded 178 ceasefire violations, including 74 explosions (one airburst, one impact and 72 undetermined explosions)," the SMM said.
The majority of ceasefire violations occurred in areas east, north-east and south of the disengagement area near Zolote (government-controlled, 60km west of Luhansk), south-south-west of Sentianivka (formerly Frunze, non-government-controlled, 44km west of Luhansk) and south-west and south-east of Holubivske (non-government-controlled, 51km west of Luhansk).
In the previous reporting period, the Mission recorded 148 ceasefire violations in Luhansk region.
