Trudeau: Canada to continue provide military assistance to Ukraine
“We'll continue to try and help out in the best possible way we can, and as [President] Zelensky has been asking for various new pieces of equipment, we're looking at what we can send,” Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau said at a press conference in Brussels on March 24, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
Trudeau underscored that Canada was committed "to looking at procuring that equipment directly for Ukrainians."
He offered no details on what Canada could contribute or buy.
Earlier, Canada’s defence minister Anita Anand acknowledged publicly that the Canadian military's stock of surplus weapons available for donation was largely depleted.
As reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky called on G7 countries to provide Ukraine with weapons to protect itself from Russian aggression.
