German Ambassador: Our decision is final, we will send heavy weapons to Ukraine
German Ambassador to Ukraine Anka Feldhusen made a corresponding statement during the Ukrainian nationwide telethon, Ukrinform reports.
Speaking about Gepard tanks, she noted that they can be bought directly from the manufacturer, but this requires the government to give export permission.
"I mean, there were misunderstandings at first, but I think we now have more coordination on the lists of what Ukraine really needs. I think now the process has started, and everyone knows how it works. They have already been approved," Feldhusen said.
The German diplomat stressed that the decision on Marder supplies was not slowed down.
"These Marders have really been parked for almost ten years. They just, as I know, cannot fight, so they need to be repaired and only then transferred. I do not know all these details, but our decision is final: we will send heavy weapons. I think it will happen," the Ambassador said.
As reported, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk has repeatedly criticized the German authorities for delaying arms supplies to Ukraine.
