The Government of Slovakia will send 30 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) to Ukraine and will receive 15 Leopard2A4 tanks from Germany instead.

"Slovakia will send its 30 IFVs to Ukraine & get 15 Leopard2A4 MBT from Germany," Minister of Defence of the Slovak Republic Jaroslav Nad posted on Twitter.

Earlier, Nad stated that the Government of Slovakia would not stop military support to Ukraine despite all the efforts of Russia to influence public opinion in his country on this matter.

In turn, President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová emphasized at the Crimea Platform summit that Bratislava would continue to provide political, humanitarian, economic, and security assistance to Ukraine.

"We have to increase the costs on Russia for its actions and reduce the possibilities for it to continue the war," she said.

As reported, Slovakia declared in July its readiness to hand over 11 MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine if it receives new combat aircraft from allies to replace them.
