The United States, along with NATO Allies and G7 partners, intends to further increase the amount of aid to Ukraine to deprive Putin of the opportunity to hold the rest of the world hostage.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken made a corresponding statement during a press conference in Bucharest following the two-day Meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

As noted, the US will strengthen security, humanitarian, and economic support for Ukraine. NATO Allies and U.S. partners have already provided Ukraine with $40 billion worth of weapons, and more is on the way. The United States has provided more than $19 billion in security assistance and another $15 billion in direct economic and humanitarian support.

Blinken added that the US continues to raise the price of war for the Kremlin and for those who support Putin’s war.

In particular, the United States welcomes the efforts of the European Union, which is preparing the 9th package of sanctions to reduce the Kremlin's ability to conduct its brutal war.

When Russia began to intensify attacks against the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine, the U.S. top diplomat said, the G7 foreign ministers agreed to create a new coordination group to combine efforts to protect Ukrainian energy networks, following the example of the Ramstein group, which allows coordinating the efforts of NATO Allies and partner countries in arms supplies to Ukraine.

Yesterday, the group gathered in Bucharest. Blinken announced that the United States will allocate more than $53 million to send necessary equipment to Ukraine, help stabilize Ukraine's energy grids, and support the performance of Ukraine's energy systems. In addition, a request was sent to Congress to allocate $1.1 billion to support the energy sector of Ukraine and Moldova and to restore the energy supply.

He also noted that the US actively supports the efforts of the Allies to get rid of dependence on Russian energy resources.
