Finland’s military aid to Ukraine includes latest products under development
This was stated by the head of the Department of Military Economy at Finland’s Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Mikko Heiskanen, Ukrinform reports with reference to Yle.
He noted that not only older defense materiel stored in warehouses is exported to Ukraine. According to Heiskanen, the latest innovations of the Finnish defense industry are being delivered, including some that are still being developed.
"The feedback on the use of Finnish products was positive," the military official said in an interview with the STT agency, adding that the experience gained in Ukraine will be useful for the further development of the latest Finnish defense products.
Heiskanen also noted that production reserves made by the Defense Forces for Finnish companies could be activated in support of Ukraine. According to the official, this would require political will and additional funding.
Finland does not disclose the content of its military aid to Ukraine, Yle recalls.
As reported by Ukrinform, the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, during his visit to Estonia late May, said his country would do everything possible for Ukraine to prevail in the war unleashed by Russia.
