The statistics of the use of unmanned kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicles by Ukraine are impressive as they destroyed more tanks on the battlefield than anti-tank missiles did.

This was stated by ASELSAN CEO Ahmet Akyol, Ukrinform reports with reference to Savunma SanayiST.

"The number of tanks destroyed by UAVs during the Ukraine war exceeds the number of tanks destroyed by missiles," Ahmet Akyol said.

The CEO of ASELSAN, one of the leading companies of the Turkish defense industry, recalled that Ukraine had received from many partners various anti-tank weapon systems, including Javelin, NLAW, AT-4, Panzerfaust 3, M141 SMAW-D, M72 ECLAW/LAW, Carl-Gustav, MILAN 2, APILAS, and Alcotán-100, but it was the use of kamikaze drones that proved most effective.

Ahmet Akyol's statement also raises important questions about the future of the battlefield. The price of one shoulder-fired anti-tank missile ranges from $100,000 to $200,000, while an average kamikaze FPV drone is priced at $2,000.

The event held in the framework of the NATO summit also discussed that FPV drones, operated from several kilometers behind the front line, are in most cases safer than anti-tank missiles.

Among the participants of the event were also Safra A. Catz, CEO of Oracle, and Linden Blue, CEO of General Atomics.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, there were 114 combat clashes with Russian troops on the front last day. The total combat losses of Russian troops in Ukraine from February 24, 2022 to July 15, 2024 amount to an estimated 560,290, including 1,200 in the past 24 hours.
