Estonia already provided almost EUR 542M in defense support to Ukraine - Shmyhal
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated this at a meeting with Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal.
“I am grateful for Estonia's large-scale defense support, which has reached almost EUR 542 million or 1.4% of the country's GDP. Estonia's decision to annually allocate at least 0.25% of its GDP to Ukraine's defense was a significant move. I thank the government of Kristen Michal for the continued support of this initiative,” Shmyhal said.
The head of the Ukrainian government highlighted that, under the guidance of Estonia, an artillery coalition, an IT coalition, and the Tallinn mechanism of cyber support for Ukraine were established. The Prime Minister stated that they are already achieving their goals.
“The combat capability of the Ukrainian army affects the entire area from the Black Sea to the Baltic. In this context, Ukraine's accession to the Joint Expeditionary Force in the Nordic-Baltic region is of great importance. We are ready to actively cooperate within the framework of this association and strengthen the northern flank of free Europe,” the head of the Ukrainian government added.
As reported by Ukrinform, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal arrived in Kyiv on a visit on Monday, December 9.
