Fortifications being erected around Chernihiv

This was reported on Facebook by acting Mayor Oleksandr Lomako, Ukrinform reports.

"Construction of defensive and fortification structures is underway around Chernihiv," Lomako wrote.

He noted that together with the commander of Operational Command North, Dmytro Krasylnikov, he inspected the ongoing work.

According to the acting mayor, the military notes the high quality of positions’ setup. However, some areas have been identified as those requiring an upgrade. All reservations have already been taken into account, the official assured.

Lomako emphasized that strengthening fortifications today is a contribution to the future security of the city.

"We must be prepared for any challenges and will do everything to ensure that Chernihiv is reliably protected," he added.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, referring to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, in Kharkiv region, work on the construction of fortifications has been completed by 99.9%, with 800 strong points having been erected and equipped.
