Latvia will transfer additional CVR(T) tracked armored combat vehicles to Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds announced this on social media platform X.

“Latvia will transfer additional combat reconnaissance tracked armored vehicles CVR(T) to Ukraine. We support Ukraine's fight against Russian aggression and will continue to do so for as long as necessary,” Spruds wrote.

He did not specify how many vehicles would be sent, but stressed that the delivery would not affect the needs or operational capabilities of Latvia’s National Armed Forces.

Spruds also noted that Latvia’s military assistance to Ukraine reached 0.3% of GDP in 2025 and is planned at 0.25% of GDP in 2026.

Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže, commenting on the news on X, said that Latvia would continue to ensure that “Ukraine is strong on the battlefield as it will bring peace closer at the negotiating table.”

Separately, at a closed meeting, the Latvian government also approved the free transfer to Ukraine of another type of movable state property. However, the ministry did not disclose further details, Press.lv reports.

In the fall of 2024, the Ministry of Defense reported that Latvia would transfer nine CVR(T) armored vehicles to Ukraine that had previously been purchased from the United Kingdom.

As reported by Ukrinform, on March 30, Latvia’s Foreign Minister Baiba Braže said that the Latvian government had approved a support package for Ukraine worth €6.8 million.
