Ukraine to replace Russian components for air defense systems with domestic
Ukrinform
KYIV, December 11 /Ukrinform/. Ukraine's state-controlled company Ukroboronservice shifts anti-aircraft missiles S-300 and Buk-M1 to a new hardware base of Ukrainian origin in order not to depend on supplies from Russia, Ukroboronservice deputy director general Ruslan Matiyishen has said, Ukrinform learned from the state-run concern Ukroboronprom.
"Next year it is planned to adopt two more types of ultra-high frequency devices of the S-300 system. Ukroboronservice was directly engaged in the technical solution to this problem, which is the owner of the entire design documentation. In the future, we will not depend on the supply of these ultra-high frequency devices from Russia,” Matiyishen said.
According to him, domestic translatory wave lamps have been already adopted for these systems.
He also noted that the countries that operate S-300PT/PS and Buk-M1 anti-aircraft systems in the future will be able to buy ultra-high frequency devices based on the new Ukrainian hardware base.
