Social welfare payments three times as much as defense budget – Yatsenyuk

The Ukrainian government during the year has made social welfare payments worth UAH 365 billion, which exceeds the national security and defense budget by three times, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has said.
“On the whole, our state during the year has made social payments worth UAH 365 billion. These are social payments and social assistance for the citizens of our country. This is three times as much as the whole national security and defense budget,” Yatsenyuk said during the “10 minutes with the prime minister” TV program, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
At the same time, the premier underscored that such payments should receive only those who really deserve them.
