NBU plans to issue digital currency using BlockChain

This has been stated by the NBU’s press service following a request from RBC-Ukraine.

“The NBU, like other world central banks, is considering an opportunity of introducing a digital form of national currency using BlockChain technologies,” reads the report.

Within the Cashless Economy project, it is planned that an innovative, highly protective, efficient and flexible platform will be created on the basis of “Ukrainian Payment Space”, the national payment system, so that to meet the demands of Ukraine’s payment market and facilitate a cashless economy in Ukraine.
