New Ukrzaliznytsia head introduced to staff
Kravtsov said that he planned to improve the quality of rolling stock.
"The most important priority for me in the first months of my work will be bringing the quality of current trains to the proper level," he said.
At the same time, he noted that he was currently unaware of the amount of a salary that he will get in his new post.
"This question is still unknown to me. I can only say that there is a respective procedure established by the Cabinet of Ministers regarding the size of salaries for heads of state enterprises. There's a fixed corridor according to which the Cabinet of Ministers will decide on my salary," Kravtsov said.
He noted that the salary might turn out to be smaller and bigger than that of Polish top manager Wojciech Balczun.
"This should be a market-oriented salary," he added.
Balczun's monthly salary was UAH 461,600 (about $18,000).
On August 9, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Balczun and appointed Kravtsov as acting Ukrzaliznytsia chief.
The government also instructed the Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Ministry to immediately launch the procedure for holding a public competition for the new head of Ukrzaliznytsia.
