Government approves program for development of highways for 2018-2022

The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a draft resolution approving the state target program for the development of highways of national importance for 2018-2022.
The respective decision was made at a government meeting on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The program provides for the effective functioning and development of the existing network of highways of general use of state importance on the routes of international and national transport corridors, better safety of movement, speed, comfort and efficiency of transportation of passengers and goods, as well as reform of the system of public administration of public roads.
In addition, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman noted that the resolution would be supplemented with the instruction for regional state administrations to draw up a similar strategic plan for 2018-2022, which should be synchronized with the government decision.
