Ukraine interested in expanding trade and economic relations with Korea
This issue was discussed at a meeting of Ukrainian delegation with Korean colleagues. Chairman of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection Volodymyr Lapa also participated in the meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Korean Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, which was held in Seoul on April 24, the Governmental portal reported.
"The chairman of the State Consumer Protection Service discussed with his Korean counterparts the issue of expanding cooperation with the Republic of Korea in the field of veterinary and food safety. The parties paid special attention to the process of accrediting the export of Ukrainian products of animal origin to the Korean market. In particular, they discussed the completion of the accreditation of the export of Ukrainian poultry meat and the registration of facilities exporting dairy products to the Korean market," the report reads.
As mentioned, over the last year the Ministry of Food and Drug Administration of the Republic of Korea approved 12 dairy enterprises for export to Korea. The work in this direction continues.
The meeting participants also discussed the expansion of a list of dairy exporters, as well as the possible export of egg heat treated products.
In addition, Lapa and his Korean counterparts analyzed the procedure and stages for the export of other products of animal origin, which could be of potential interest to Ukrainian producers.
Chairman of the State Consumer Protection Service Volodymyr Lapa is on a visit to the Republic of Korea as part of the Ukrainian government delegation chaired by First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv.
