Kyiv intends to expand cooperation with Shanghai
Deputy Chairman of Kyiv City State Administration Dmytro Davtian said this after a meeting with the delegation from Shanghai led by the vice mayor of the city, Xu Kunlin, the KCSA’s press service informed.
"I consider China in general and Shanghai in particular as extremely important strategic partners of Kyiv. I am convinced that we should develop not only infrastructure and road directions that we have already identified as promising. I've been to China twice in the past few months and I understand that the country is interesting as a technology leader and for its tourist opportunities. Actually, there are a lot of directions, the development indicators of Shanghai are amazing, and we would like not only to adopt experience - we prefer to be full partners with interesting investment projects," he said.
According to him, despite the fact that Kyiv is smaller than Shanghai, however, it has significant prospects for development.
"Shanghai is not only ready to sign official documents with Kyiv; our guests do want partnership relations. And we support this, and we are determined to be mutually beneficial," Davtian said.
As noted, the next step should be a working visit of Ukrainian officials to the Chinese metropolis, as well as Ukraine's participation in the first China International Import Expo, which will be held in Shanghai in November, and in which 128 countries have already confirmed their participation.
