Poroshenko signs law establishing basic principles and requirements for organic production

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the Law of Ukraine "On Basic Principles and Requirements for Organic Production, Distribution and Labeling of Organic Products" which was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on July 10.
"The implementation of the law will ensure the improvement and adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to the legislation of the European Union in the field of production and distribution of organic products and will promote the creation of transparent conditions of management, reduction of unfair competition, increase in competitiveness of domestic organic products and expansion of foreign markets of its sale," the press service of the Head of State reports.
As noted, the law establishes the basic principles and requirements for organic production, distribution and labeling of organic products, the principles of legal regulation of organic production, distribution of organic products and the functioning of the market of such products.
