Agriculture was most profitable branch of Ukrainian economy in 2017

In 2017, the level of profitability of enterprises in agriculture, forestry and fisheries reached 22.7 percent compared to 8.9 percent in the Ukrainian economy overall.
"In 2017, the level of profitability of operating activities of the enterprises in agriculture, forestry and fisheries amounted to 22.7% compared to 8.9% in the Ukrainian economy overall,” said director of the National Scientific Centre "Institute of Agrarian Economics", academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Yuri Lupenko, commenting on the recently announced data of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine on profitability of enterprises by types of economic activity.
As noted, the agricultural enterprises received about UAH 79.1 billion in net profit, having showed highest index among all types of economic activity and exceeded the profits of the manufacturing industry almost by UAH 25 billion.
