Ukraine, Qatar discuss trade and economic cooperation

“The main talking points of the meetings were the issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, the opportunities for investment in Ukrainian infrastructure, agriculture and energy sectors, including positioning of Ukraine in the global economy, the economic development trends of our country and progress in implementing structural reforms,” the press service of the Finance Ministry of Ukraine reports upon a working visit of the Ministry’s representatives to the State of Qatar.

The investments are currently the driving force of Qatar's economy, so the representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Qatar expressed their willingness to consider the provision of long-term investment support to Ukrainian projects in the field of infrastructure, real estate, and agriculture. The parties also discussed the possibility of expanding Qatar Airlines' connections with a greater number of Ukrainian cities.

In addition, the need for Ukrainian representatives to participate in the large-scale International Agricultural Exhibition AgriteQ, which will be held in the capital of Qatar on March 19-22, was underscored.
