Synchronization of Ukraine’s energy system with ENTSO-E among priority tasks - Klympush-Tsyntsadze
Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze stated this at the meeting "Integration of Ukraine to ENTSO-E (the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity): Key Benefits and Challenges,” the Government portal reports.
"It is necessary to develop a special document with a detailed plan of measures for the integration of the domestic energy system to the European one, which, in fact, is ‘a visa-free energy regime’ that will enable Ukraine to become part of the European energy space and to reduce its dependence on Russia to a minimum," she said.
According to Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze, Ukraine over the past two years has been working on the reform of the electricity market, an integral part of which is the integration into the ENTSO-E. "In this context, the government is positively evaluating the dynamics of implementation of the tasks envisaged in the Action Plan on Synchronization of the United Energy System of Ukraine with the Association of Power Systems of the EU Member States," she said.
At the same time, she said that a successful fight for “a visa-free energy regime" is impossible without the support of key international partners. "We are very grateful for the assistance provided by our partners - the United States, the European Union, KfW, the European Investment Bank, the World Bank and others. Also, special thanks to our Moldovan partners, with whom we are moving side by side towards the European energy market and I hope that this pace will not decrease,” said the official.
