Fifteen projects implemented in Ukraine’s public sector with EIB support
"During the period of cooperation between Ukraine and the EIB, the projects totaling EUR 5.9 billion have been financed. Some of these projects are implemented in the public sector. At present, 15 projects worth EUR 3.2 billion are underway," the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine reports following the meeting on review of the European Investment Bank’s portfolio of projects in Ukraine.
This year, the European Investment Bank's portfolio of projects is being reviewed for the second time. During the review, the parties discuss the current state of preparation and implementation of joint projects and agree on the action plan for the next period. The joint projects with the EIB are aimed at improving the state of Ukraine's highways, modernizing the energy sector, developing municipal and railway infrastructure, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, restoring the infrastructure of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
“We have established ongoing communication within the EIB projects, and their number is currently the largest in the sovereign portfolio of the international financial organizations’ projects. We also work actively on the preparation of new projects, in particular in the field of energy efficiency, infrastructure, energy and so on. We very much appreciate successful cooperation and hope that the Bank will continue to support and invest in the development of the economy of our country,” said Deputy Minister of Finance for European Integration of Ukraine Yuriy Heletiy.
