Ukraine implementing nine joint projects worth $2.6 bln with World Bank

Ukraine is implementing nine joint projects with the World Bank for a total sum of $2.6 billion. This year disbursement of funds for projects has grown by almost 18% from the previous year.

The press service of the Finance Ministry has reported this following the second review of the World Bank project portfolio this year.

"On November 26, a review of the World Bank's portfolio of projects in Ukraine took place with the participation of representatives of the Finance Ministry, government agencies and beneficiary institutions. Such a review is being held for the second time this year," reads the report.

It is noted that Ukraine is implementing nine joint projects with the World Bank for a total sum of $2.6 billion. Ukraine has already used $901.6 million of the World Bank’s funds since the launch of projects this year.

The joint projects with the World Bank are aimed at improving Ukrainian roads, modernizing the energy sector, and introducing land reform, improving the quality of healthcare services, raising the effectiveness of social assistance, improving water supply services, drainage and disposal of municipal solid waste etc.
