Ukraine increases exports of Christmas tree decorations
"Ukrainian Christmas tree decorations spread the festive Christmas spirit in 27 countries. Over the ten months of 2019, exports of these items for the New Year and Christmas holidays amounted to $7.5 million, which is 7.7% more compared with the relevant period last year," the deputy minister wrote on his Facebook page
It is noted that out of total Ukrainian Christmas tree decorations exports, 83.1% are glass ornaments. Other items and decorations account for 16.9% of exports.
According to Kachka, the largest importer of Ukrainian Christmas ornaments is the Netherlands.
“The Netherlands accounts for 34.1% of the total export of Christmas and Christmas tree decorations from Ukraine. Out of total exports to the EU countries, the Dutch market accounts for 56.2%,” he wrote.
Other large exporters of Ukrainian Christmas decorations are Poland, Germany, Belarus, and Switzerland.
"Exports of Christmas ornaments over the ten months of the current year, compared to the relevant period last year, grew significantly to Latvia (2.9 times), Georgia (2.4 times), Moldova (2.3 times), Romania (2.1 times), USA (2.1 times), Italy (1.9 times),” Kachka wrote.
He also added that this year exports of Ukrainian Christmas tree decorations entered new markets in Austria, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Serbia and the Cayman Islands.
