Ukraine's grain exports hit record 57.2 M tonnes
"According to data provided by the State Customs Service, a record 57.2 million tonnes of grain, legumes and flour were delivered to foreign markets in the 2019/2020 marketing year, which is 6.8 million tonnes more than last year, when exports amounted to 50.4 million tonnes," reads the announcement.
In particular, Ukraine exported 56.7 million tonnes of grain and legumes, including 20.5 million tonnes of wheat and wheat and rye mixture, 5.08 million tonnes of barley, 8.2 thousand tonnes of wheat, 30.3 million tonnes of corn and 791 thousand tonnes of other cereals and legumes.
Ukraine's exports of flour totalled 334.2 thousand tonnes, including 331.7 thousand tonnes of wheat or mixtures of wheat rye (meslin) and 2.5 thousand tonnes of flour from other cereals.
As reported by Ukrinform, during the 2018/2019 marketing year, Ukraine exported a record 50.4 million tonnes of grain, legumes and flour to foreign markets, which is 9.5 million tonnes more than in the previous MY, when exports amounted to 40.9 million tonnes.
The Ministry for development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture signed a "Memorandum of Understanding" with participants of the Ukrainian grain market for the new 2020/2021 marketing year, which started on July 1.
