Passenger traffic in Ukraine decreased by 2.2 times – State Statistics Service

Over the reporting period, 1.90 billion passengers used the services of domestic transport companies, which is 40.0% less compared with January-September 2019.

In particular, the number of passengers carried by rail in January-September 2020 reached 51.7 million, which is 56.1% less compared with the same period last year; passenger turnover totaled 8.15 billion passenger-kilometers (down 2.7 times).

Some 804.9 million passengers were carried by motor vehicles in January-September 2020, which is 40.5% less compared with the same period last year, passenger turnover amounted to about 14.30 billion passenger-kilometers (down 43.7%).

Ukrainian airlines carried 3.8 million passengers over the reporting period, which is 2.8 times less than in January-September 2019; passenger turnover amounted to 7.90 billion passenger-kilometers (down 2.9 times).

As Ukrinform reported, according to the State Statistics Service, the passenger turnover of transport enterprises amounted to 107.9 billion passenger-kilometers in 2019, which is 3.3% higher than in 2018.
