Ukrainian market of electric vehicles rose by 1% in Jan-Oct 2020

In January-October 2020, 6,309 electric vehicles were registered in Ukraine, which is 1% more than in the same period last year, according to the Ukrainian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (UkrAutoProm).  

In particular, 6,016 electric cars (of which 8% were new), 292 commercial electric cars (3% new) and 1 new electric bus were purchased in Ukraine between January-October 2020.

The most popular electric car model on the Ukrainian market remains Nissan Leaf. In January-October 2020, 1,912 Nissan Leaf cars were purchased in Ukraine.

The top five most popular cars with zero emissions registered in Ukraine over the reporting period also included Tesla Model 3 – 729 units; Tesla Model S – 676 units; FIAT 500е – 319 units; Tesla Model X – 310 units; Chevrolet Bolt – 310 units.

In October 2020, Ukrainians purchased 657 electric vehicles, which is 15% less than in October 2019.  At the same time, the share of new electric cars rose to 11% from 6% (in October 2019). In total, in October 2020, 632 electric cars were purchased, which is 11% less than in October 2019, and 25 commercial electric cars, which is 59% less than in October 2019.

As reported by Ukrinform, a total of 7,542 electric cars were registered in Ukraine in 2019.
