First stage of Ukraine’s decentralization reform ends

The first stage of decentralization reform has ended this year and regional development remains one of the main priorities of the Cabinet of Ministers.
"Regional development remains one of the top priorities. This year, the first stage of decentralization reform has ended – territorial communities received their comprehensive budgets and land, more resources and more responsibility," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said at the Cabinet’s meeting, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
According to him, next year 1.7 times more funding will be allocated to the State Fund for Regional Development and socio-economic support programs than this year.
As reported, UAH 4.9 billion for programs implemented by the State Fund for Regional Development and UAH 1.7 billion for socio-economic development of territories was laid down in the state budget for 2020.
