Ukraine, ILO sign memorandum of understanding

Representatives of Ukraine and the International Labor Organization (ILO) have signed a memorandum of understanding on the implementation of the Decent Work Country Program for Ukraine for 2020-2024.

“As part of the National Tripartite Socio-Economic Council, Minister Ihor Petrashko signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of the Decent Work Country Program for Ukraine for 2020-2024. Heinz Koller, ILO Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, signed the document from the International Labor Organization (ILO),” reads the report released by the Ministry for Development of Economy Trade and Agriculture.

The program includes three priorities: improved social dialogue; inclusive and productive employment; improved working conditions and social protection.

According to the ministry’s press service, the Program will be managed by the ILO Office for Central and Eastern Europe (DWT/CO in Budapest) and the ILO National Coordinator in Ukraine. The Program will be supported by the Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia and the technical units of the ILO headquarters in Geneva.

The program is designed to support national priorities in accordance with the Sustainable Development Agenda until 2030, the Framework Partnership Program between the Government of Ukraine and the United Nations, the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.
