The Cabinet of Ministers has signed agreements on the distribution of products in seven oil and gas fields with the winners of open and transparent auctions.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“We are taking a historic step in the field of subsoil use. Today, for the first time, the Government has signed agreements on the distribution of products in seven oil and gas fields with the winners of open and transparent auctions. This is an extremely successful case, which will provide an opportunity to attract at least UAH 12 billion in gas production," Shmyhal stressed.

He has added that in addition to investment, the state will receive hundreds of new high-paying jobs, a significant share of the extracted resource and significant tax revenues.

According to the prime minister, this is an extremely important step for energy independence and energy self-sufficiency, as the development of these fields will significantly increase the production of natural gas.

Shmyhal has also stressed that the signing of production sharing agreements shows international investors that the Ukrainian government is fulfilling its commitments and that Ukraine is attractive for investment.
