Digitalization of economy to contribute to development of all industries – PM

The digitalization of the economy will give an impetus to the development of all industries and help create new jobs, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.

“Digitalization will become a platform that gives impetus to the development of all sectors of the economy, creating new segments, jobs and new industries,” Shmyhal wrote on his Facebook page.

He also noted that the digital economy is a driver of economic development in the 21st century. According to the Center for Economic Recovery, the implementation of initiatives in the field of the digital economy and information and computer technologies can bring the Ukrainian economy up to USD 110 billion in 10 years.

Shmyhal also stressed that the successful development of the digital economy in Ukraine requires a focus on strategic areas such as the development of digital infrastructure and digital platforms; improving the digital skills of citizens; development of the information and communication technology sector; digital transformation of the economy and life spheres.

He stressed that the National Economic Strategy until 2030 will have clear goals and concrete steps to implement digital transformations in various spheres of life.
