Danish business urged to join concession projects in Ukraine’s maritime sector
"We are open to the implementation of joint concession projects in the maritime sector together with Danish business and we will be happy to see Danish companies among the participants in future open tenders," Kryklii said during a working meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine Ole Egberg Mikkelsen in Kyiv, the Ministry’s press service informs.
The minister also shared the plans to implement promising public-private partnership projects in the maritime sector. As noted, the Ministry of Infrastructure in cooperation with the EBRD and IFC now actively works to ensure the successful launch of tenders for the next two concession projects in the Chornomorsk seaport.
“Representatives of the EBRD and IFC already agreed to finance the preparation of a feasibility study and tender documents for a concession project on a railway and ferry complex in the Chornomorsk seaport. In addition, the preparation of a pre-feasibility study for the concession of the first and container terminals of the Chornomorsk seaport is underway. Preliminary results of the study are expected in March 2021, after which the Ministry of Infrastructure will decide on the preparation of a feasibility study," Vladyslav Kryklii said.
According to him, the Ministry expects that concession tenders for projects in the Chornomorsk seaport will be announced by the end of this year.
The parties also discussed the possible participation of the Danish side in other concession projects in seaports and in the implementation of the first public-private partnership program in the road sector.
