Ukraine interested in economic cooperation with Vietnam

According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this issue was discussed at a meeting of Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevheniy Yenin and Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Ukraine Nguyen Hong Thach.

“The parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in intensifying political dialogue of the highest and high level, as well as cooperation in the field of trade, in particular the implementation of the agreements reached at the 15th meeting of the Ukrainian-Vietnamese Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation… Yevheniy Yenin also noted Ukraine's special interest in building effective cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN),” reads the report.

The Deputy Minister stressed our state’s eagerness to further develop Ukrainian-Vietnamese relations and strengthen cooperation within international organizations.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in 2020, the volume of bilateral turnover amounted to $653.1 million (up 21% from 2019): exports - $192.1 million (up 84.78% mainly due to increase in crops compared to 2019), imports - $461.0 million (up 6.7% from 2019). Negative balance in 2020 reached $268.9 million.
