Ukraine plans to expand geography of food exports
"The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection will make every effort to address the priorities we are discussing with the Chamber, develop international cooperation and create a favorable business climate in Ukraine," said Vladyslava Mahaletska, the Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
According to the Service’s press service, she stressed that constant communication and dialogue allowed the Service to help businesses better.
It is noted that over the past six months, members of the committees of the American Chamber of Commerce on the agro-industrial complex, seed production, food industry, consumer goods, retail, e-commerce, and telecommunications have repeatedly addressed the Service, asking assistance in dealing with problems.
President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine Andy Hunder praised "a professional approach and meaningful feedback on a number of issues and, in particular, ways to solve them." According to him, the joint development of effective regulatory mechanisms within the working groups will help support companies and improve the conditions for doing business.
According to the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, 12 new markets opened for Ukrainian products last year, 35 export certificates were approved and two EU audits were undergone on the system of assessment of state control over fish and fish products, poultry and poultry products.
