French ambassador announces signing of new economic agreements with Ukraine
The diplomat said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
According to the ambassador, despite a certain decline in 2020, trade between Ukraine and France remains at a relatively high level. Moreover, a recovery in trade has been recorded since the beginning of this year.
In this context, the French ambassador reminded of the implementation of two agreements. The agreement concerns the supply of helicopters and patrol boats for the needs of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine. The work on these agreements is carried out in line with the plan.
According to the diplomat, co-chairs of the Joint French-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Commission Bruno Le Maire and Arsen Avakov regularly communicate via phone, video and in person and have "some progress" on certain issues.
"During the meeting of the two presidents in Paris, a recommendation was made to speed up the work of the Joint Commission to develop opportunities for the launch of new major contracts in the economic sphere. There is reason to hope that in the coming weeks some of these contracts will be specified and made public, and this will be an opportunity for new meetings between our ministers," said Etienne de Poncins.
As reported, Ukraine and France are currently working on two major joint contracts - the supply of 55 helicopters under the Unified Aviation System and 20 patrol boats for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
