Ukraine stepping up cooperation with Austria in field of regional development

"I am very grateful to you for participating in the 15th meeting of the Ukrainian-Austrian Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Relations which took place in Kyiv. This is a strong impetus to boost cooperation between our countries. In particular, we plan to intensify the implementation of the Austrian educational project Smart Farm in Ukraine. Currently, one of the agricultural universities is interested to participate in it," Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov said during a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Ukraine Gernot Pfandler, the Ministry’s press service informs.

For his part, Ambassador Gernot Pfandler assured of further development of bilateral relations. During the meeting, the parties agreed on a visit of the Ukrainian delegation to Austria to exchange experience.

Smart Farm project provides for the introduction of practice-oriented training production. The idea is to create a cattle farm, combining professional training and profit earning (as a full-fledged commercial enterprise). This model is already successfully practiced in Austria, in the agricultural college Phyra with production facilities in the suburbs of Vienna.

On April 27, the 15th meeting of the Ukrainian-Austrian Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Relations took place under the chairmanship of Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, head of Ukrainian side Oleksiy Chernyshov.
