The Ukrainian power system is 90% ready for the upcoming heating season – Ukraine has already pumped 18 billion cubic meters of natural gas into gas storage facilities, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.
"As to the injection and availability of gas and preparations for the heating season, the preparations for the heating season is underway in line with the schedule. Ukraine's power system is 90% ready for the heating season. More than 18 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been pumped into the gas storage facilities, which is the highest percentage in the past ten years on average for this period before the start of the heating season,” Shmyhal said at a press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
The prime minister added that Naftogaz expects these reserves will grow to more than 19 billion cubic meters.
