Banks provided UAH 5.5B of loans under state guarantees – Ministry of Finance

"As part of the support for micro-, small- and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine through the instrument of state guarantees on a portfolio basis, ten banks provided 2,018 loans worth UAH 5.543 billion as of September 1, 2021," reads the report.

It is noted that obligations on the main debt, which are partially secured by state guarantees on a portfolio basis, amounted to UAH 2,505 million. This is about 64% of the total limit of guarantees provided in 2020 (UAH 3,930 million).

In August 2021, banks provided 98 loans for a total sum of UAH 436 million under state guarantees.

JSC CB PrivatBank leads in the number of issued loans - 948 loans worth UAH 865 million, which is about 92% of the limit of such guarantees provided to this bank in 2020. JSC Oschadbank is second, with 722 loans worth UAH 2.129 billion issued.

The largest amount of loans were provided in the city of Kyiv – 165 loans worth UAH 631 million, Lviv region – 138 loans worth UAH 366 million, and Dnipropetrovsk region – 133 loans worth UAH 323 million.

The largest amounts of loans partially secured by state guarantees on the portfolio basis were issued in wholesale and retail trade (711), agricultural sector (576), and processing industry (310).

As reported by Ukrinform, on September 3, 2020, the Verkhovna Rada approved the law on providing state guarantees on a portfolio basis.
