Deposit Guarantee Fund repays another UAH 2B to Finance Ministry ahead of schedule

The Deposit Guarantee Fund of Ukraine has transferred UAH 2.07 billion ahead of schedule under its obligations to the Finance Ministry of Ukraine.

Ukrinform reports this with a reference to the Fund’s press service.

“The Deposit Guarantee Fund transferred another UAH 2.07 billion to the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine - UAH 1.2 billion of promissory notes and UAH 0.87 billion of interest payments. Thus, the Fund continued early repayment of public debt on loans taken from the state to ensure guaranteed payments to depositors in 2014-2017,” reads the report.

As of today, the Fund repaid UAH 21.7 billion to the Ministry of Finance, including UAH 7.9 billion of interest payments. The lion's share of this amount was repaid ahead of schedule: UAH 1.5 billion in 2018, over UAH 9 billion in 2019, UAH 2 billion in 2020, UAH 2 billion in February 2021, and UAH 2 billion in September 2021. In addition, in 2019, the Fund fully repaid its debt to the NBU in the amount of UAH 25.6 billion, including UAH 5.5 billion of interest payments.
