The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy expects that Ukraine will be among Europe’s top five countries with the largest share of renewable energy by 2035, Ukrinform reports, referring to the ministry’s press service.

"Strengthening energy security and effectively tackling climate change are common goals for Ukraine and Europe. We expect that Ukraine will enter Europe’s top five countries with the largest share of clean energy by 2035," said Minister of Energy German Galushchenko.

He noted that currently the integration of the Ukrainian energy market into the European one is a mutually beneficial process that will contribute to the diversification of electricity supply routes, increase the flexibility and sustainability of Europe's power system and contribute to its decarbonization.

"Only the solidarity of the states of the European region amid today's challenges is the key to energy and geopolitical security," Galushchenko added.

As Ukrinform reported, the synchronization of Ukraine’s integrated power system with the ENTSO-E power grid is scheduled for 2023.

ENTSO-E, the European Network of Transmission System Operators, unites 43 operators in 36 countries of the European continent.
