UkSATSE gets UAH 183M in net profit in Q3 2021
It is noted that this is the enterprise’s first profit since the pre-crisis autumn 2019. Moreover, UkSATSE generated profit despite the fact that air traffic intensity in the third quarter was 26% lower compared to the same period in 2019.
At the same time, UkSATSE reduced the total losses to UAH 77 million in the first nine months of this year (compared to the actual losses totaling over UAH 1 billion in the previous year).
According to Head of UkSATSE Andrii Yarmak, the enterprise achieved such results due to the implementation of effective anti-crisis measures, effective use of borrowed funds and systematic work with Ukrainian and foreign airlines. He also added that an important factor was a threefold increase in the number of flights in the airspace over the Black Sea, where an economically justified rate for air navigation services was introduced from June 2021.
As Ukrinform reported, in March 2020, Ukraine suspended flights due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ukraine resumed domestic flights on June 5, 2020, international flights on June 15, 2020.
The number of flights in the Ukrainian airspace in 2020 amounted to 142,047 flights in 2020, which is 57.6% less than in 2019.
