Ukraine, Moldova discuss synchronization with ENTSO-E, security of gas supply
According to the report, both parties agreed on the process of preparation for the synchronization of the power systems of Ukraine and Moldova with the European continental network ENTSO-E.
"Synchronization is not only a technical process, but also a geopolitical issue, as it involves a complete disconnection from the energy systems of Russia and Belarus. Ukraine has experience in the electricity market, and we are ready to share this experience because integration with Europe also involves the introduction of new transparent market rules that will meet the requirements of European legislation," Galushchenko said.
The agenda of the meeting also included the issue of security of gas supply.
The participants in the meeting also discussed the concept of the Regional Energy Security Partnership (RESP), which Ukraine has proposed to European countries.
"We are actively discussing our proposal with the European Union and see interest in it. Ukraine can really ensure the energy security of the region. It is not only about Ukraine and Moldova, but about the whole European region, which consumes about 90 billion cubic meters of gas. We have the largest storage facilities in Europe. They can become a hub to ensure the physical availability of resources and strengthen energy security," Galushchenko said.
Spinu assured participants in the meeting that Moldova supports this concept and is ready to cooperate with Ukraine in communication with the European Commission on its implementation. He also thanked Ukraine for emergency assistance in gas and electricity supplies in October this year.
