Ukraine has transported more than three trillion cubic meters of gas to European countries over the past 30 years, which corresponds to almost annual consumption of natural gas by all the countries of the world.
Ukrinform reports this with reference of the press service of the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU).
"Uninterrupted transit to Europe through our GTS has been and remains an example of successful cooperation with partners and a guarantee of long-term energy security of the European Union. Our goal is to continue this work to strengthen Europe's energy security,” the company said.
The GTSOU noted that Ukraine has always fully complied with its obligations on the natural gas transit to European consumers, even amid open political pressure from Russia in early 2009 and Russian military aggression.
