The Cabinet of Ministers has made a decision to speed up the inclusion of state-owned enterprises in the list of those subject to privatization.

According to Ukrinform, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on Telegram.

"The government has approved a decision to improve the procedure for including state-owned enterprises in the list of those subject to privatization. The changes should speed up the preparation of the necessary documents by the agencies," Shmyhal wrote.

According to him, it is expected that the agencies responsible for privatization will provide an expanded range of information on state property: the size of shares, the availability of property complexes, court decisions and more.

"Corporatization and privatization are two pillars to ensure the transparent operation of state-owned companies. [...] 2022 should be the year of privatization - all relevant instructions have been given to the responsible ministries and bodies," Shmyhal said at a government meeting.

He added that corporatization and privatization are key to reducing state influence in the economy.

Shmyhal also recalled that according to the plan, UAH 8 billion is to be transferred to the state budget from privatization this year.
