The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine have signed a memorandum of cooperation, Ukrinform reports, referring to the SBU press service.

The memorandum of cooperation was signed at a meeting between SBU Head Ivan Bakanov and a delegation of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine headed by its President Andy Hunder.

At the meeting, representatives of the American Chamber said they support Ukraine in its efforts to strengthen the security sector.

According to the SBU head, the Ukrainian authorities are making every effort to ensure that Ukraine be a reliable and consistent partner of its allies.

"This memorandum shows the readiness of the Ukrainian special services to cooperate. In times of hybrid challenges faced by our security, the SBU will continue to contribute to creating favorable conditions for business. This is really important for the economic stability of Ukraine,” Bakanov said.

According to Hunder, "despite unstable situation in the media, the chamber's member companies continue to do business as usual, moving the country's economy forward, having invested more than $50 billion in Ukraine, creating jobs and filling the state budget."

"The business community in Ukraine has optimistic mood,” said the president of the American Chamber of Commerce.

The parties agreed that countering hybrid threats in the media, economy and cyberspace is a common task of the private and public sectors.

The signing of a memorandum of cooperation and partnership once again confirms intentions of the parties to take practical steps to build a strong state to repel the aggressor.

As Ukrinform reported, in December 2021, Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky and President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine Andy Hunder signed a memorandum of cooperation.
